Car clinic gets young carers mobile

HELP is getting into gear for three children on South Tyneside who are caring for their seriously ill father.
The children, aged nine, 11 and 14, from Jarrow, are supporting their dad, who is battling against a brain tumour.
But the youngsters often find visiting their father, who is in St Clare’s Hospice, Jarrow, difficult and stressful.
But help is available for the children and others, thanks to the South Tyneside Young Carers Project.

Young carers have a tough life
THE Lynn News Young Carers Appeal has now hit the £12,000 mark thanks to a donation by a group of generous bowlers.
The West Newton Carpet Bowls Club has raised £300 to help children and teenagers who are caring for sick relatives.
Club chairman Trevor Riches presented the money to campaign organiser Jackie Haverson on Tuesday.
The total now stands at a fantastic £12,553 but more money is still needed to help the scores of children and teenagers who looking after relatives.

Ian Hobin’s day is a million miles away from your average teenage boy.
To start with the 16-year-old is up at 6.30am every morning to help his younger brother get ready for school, take him to the gates and then get himself off to college.
