Peers will press for changes to government plans for a cap on benefits families can receive when the measure is debated in the House of Lords later.

IDS criticises bishops over welfare reform

 Iain Duncan Smith is spearheading the government’s welfare changes

Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith has accused bishops who oppose plans for welfare changes of failing to show concern for ordinary people.

He said they should think of those who pay taxes while some unemployed people live in large houses at public expense.

Bishops are expected to oppose the plans in the House of Lords on Monday.

Local children and young people with disabilities or sensory impairments are invited to take part in Making Noise in the Village – and to bring their families with them.

Making Noise in the Village follows the success of the Making Noise music-making project which began in Lincolnshire last summer.

Workshops are now being run in Gainsborough by music facilitators from Lincolnshire Music Development Agency SoundLINCS – who have specific experience in working with children with special needs.
