£200,000 fund launched for carers

CARERS from across Bradford are to share in a grant scheme worth almost £200,000 to promote their own health and well-being.

The growing number of unpaid carers in Bradford, Airedale and parts of Wharfedale can apply for up to £200 to enable them to have a break from the day-to-day pressures of looking after a loved one.

Carers in north east Somerset will be able to take more breaks from their caring responsibilities thanks to lottery funding.

The Carers’ Centre charity has won £298,471 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Reaching Communities programme.
