A Norfolk field studies centre is enjoying a new lease of life, just over a year after it was threatened with closure.
Holt Hall Environmental and Outdoor Learning Centre escaped the axe last year when Norfolk County Council looked set to remove funding from it and Wells Field Study Centre.
It was reprieved, and now the council has spent £43,000 to upgrade its facilities to make it more accessible and user-friendly for children with learning difficulties and disabilities.

A coroner has demanded lessons be learned after social services failed to check on an 82-year-old man with Parkinson’s disease who was then found dead in “horrific” circumstances.
Social services staff were supposed to check on Kenneth Mills four times a day, but they failed to do so and his son faced the “terrible trauma” of finding his father dead and his frail mother lying in her own urine next to him.

A doctor who kicked an autism sufferer on the backside in Norfolk in a row over a pair of rubber gloves has been struck off.
Polish national Dr Robert Bartosik, 47, hit out at the patient following the argument at Treehaven residential home in West Runton.
