Show changes, mental health chiefs are told

MENTAL health chiefs have been asked to show they have made improvements following the death of two patients.

Bosses from Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Bolton Hospital have been called to provide assurances that lessons have been learned.

It comes after an inquest into the death of Mark Dakin concluded he was let down by the “gross failure”

of staff.

As well as working with children and adults with physical, sensory, or learning disabilities, people with mental health issues and young people in challenging circumstances, CME offers an exciting program of courses open to the public.

Cuts will lead to police having to spend more time on social issues.

A senior police chief warned today that public spending cuts will lead to more officers being diverted from fighting crime to tackling social issues.

Sir Hugh Orde, president of the Association of Chief Police Officers, said the workload of forces could increase as they fill the gaps left by other professionals in areas facing cuts.
