The Red Cross’ free app features simple, easy-to-understand advice on 18 everyday first aid scenarios, as well as tips on how to prepare for emergencies, from severe winter weather to road traffic accidents.

YORKSHIRE companies have the chance to create jobs and save lives by leading a world revolution in healthcare, analysts predicted yesterday.

Prime Minister David Cameron has announced plans to use ‘telehealth’ systems to monitor three million patients with chronic illnesses in their home.

As a result, the NHS will save millions of pounds every year, because it means fewer people will have to be admitted to hospital.

The hi-tech systems will allow health checks to be carried out and sent electronically to GPs without the need for patients to make an appointment or visit a clinic.
