Shire launches new awards programme for carers
Shire has launched a new international awards programme that is aimed at recognising the dedication and hard work of carers worldwide.
Nominations for the inaugural Shire Brave Awards initiative are being accepted between now and August 31st 2011, with the event itself to take place in November.
With an initial jurisdiction encompassing France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US, the event will honour non-professional carers providing regular, consistent support for another person.
If support workers would only listen to what people with a disablity want!

Heavy Load is a punk rock band with learning disabilities.
The band and support worker Paul tour the country, proving that learning disabilities do not stop people expressing themselves.
