Winchester supermarket rewards young carers

Sainsbury’s Winchester branch invited members of Winchester Young Carers to their shop in Middle Brook Street to present them with special hoodies.

You are not alone, young carers told

YOUNG carers in Worcestershire who help look after loved ones with a life-threatening illness now have their own support group.

Thetoday at the Snowdrop Centre at St Richard’s Hospice, Worcester.

The support group will meet on the first Monday of every month from 5.30pm to 7pm.

It is available to families who have a relative being helped by the St Richard’s team.

Changes to care services in Wiltshire leave folks “absolutely gutted.”

The changes are aimed at keeping more people in their own homes
A new care service aimed at helping more vulnerable people stay in their own homes has been introduced in Wiltshire.

From Monday, wardens are being replaced by a 24 hour call-out system, in a joint project between Wiltshire Council and the NHS.

Four care providers have been chosen to run the system, which will affect 3,000 vulnerable people.

The Conservative-run council said it was providing a better service.
