Sainsbury’s Winchester branch invited members of Winchester Young Carers to their shop in Middle Brook Street to present them with special hoodies.

The carers scheme is the shop’s annual charity and they have been working throughout the year to support and raise money for their valuable cause.

Andy Meechan, store manager, said: “We have got a great relationship with Winchester Young Carers and we are proud to be able to support them, as our charity of the year.

They make sure a great difference to the Young Carers of Winchester, and the work and attitude of the staff, volunteers and carers is a great example of what is great in our community. We really enjoyed fundraising for them, and we hope they will wear the hoodies with pride.”
