THERE was a big boost for the Memory Café in Chard this week – thanks to the fundraising efforts of three sisters who are keen volunteers for the service.
A cheque for £367 was presented to the Alzheimer’s Society at 11am yesterdat in the Guildhall, following a tea party organised by Alaine Budge, Barbara Bagg and Maureen Chubb back on Sunday, July 3.

A CHARITY that supports carers in the Stirling area scooped a lottery jackpot yesterday (Tuesday).
The area’s branch of the Carers’ Forum was awarded £118,836.

Winter fuel poverty could hit Norfolk harder than other parts of the country, an Age UK Norfolk representative has warned.
Linda Gill, the charity’s development manager, said the county had a higher than average elderly population receiving the winter fuel payment struggling to meet the increasing cost of fuel to keep their homes warm during the cold winter months.
