A WEEK of events will highlight and celebrate the contribution that carers make and provide greater support for those unaware of the services and benefits they may be entitled to.

Three in five people will be a carer at some point in their lives, meaning that one day the true face of a carer may be yours.

Carers receive £55.55 per week, the lowest benefit of its kind and only available for those who care more than 35 hours per week, equating to approximately £1.58 per hour.

A Norwich mum has spoken of her heartache after discovering her son had a potentially fatal rare syndrome – and that she carried its genes.

Two-year-old Preston Quinton looks like a happy little toddler with his curly brown hair and toothless smile. But he has already had to undergo two major head operations and doctors currently do not know if he will be able to run, walk or jump later in life.
