Hundreds of grants have been made to some of Norfolk’s neediest elderly people, as money floods in to an appeal to help them meet their heating bills.

How to apply for help

Applications for help from the Surviving Winter campaign are being processed by Age UK Norfolk.

Age UK’s Jasmine Toombs said a decision would normally be made within days of receiving a call.

“We’ll have a chat about their circumstances, so we understand how best we’re able to help them,” she said.

Payments are usually made within a week to 10 days.
