Mental health professionals usually define hearing voices as a symptom of medical illness. Many people who hear voices are able to live with them and may consider them a positive part of their lives. Many people hear voices but never find them a problem or need to seek help from mental health services.

Advertising campaign to promote The Co-operative and Procter and Gamble’s fundraising for Mencap

The Co-operative has joined forces with Procter and Gamble (P&G) to raise £300,000 for Mencap and ENABLE Scotland.

For six weeks from Wednesday 3 August, 3p from over 20 P&G brands sold in The Co-operative stores will be donated to the charities. P&G brands include Fairy, Herbal Essence and Pampers.

“Unacceptable delays” for arthritis treatment

People are facing “unacceptably long” delays to receive treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, according to a survey of eight European countries.

It found patients in England waited 21 weeks for treatment, well in excess of the three month “therapeutic window” in which it is best to treat to maximise chances of a good outcome.
