The Keep Safe card is a new initiative developed jointly by the Learning Disability Partnership Board, Mencap and Northamptonshire Police. The card is available to anyone in Northamptonshire with a learning disability.

Careline is a lifeline for West Sussex residents

Call centres are normally the last places you want to hear from.

But there is a different kind of call centre in Chichester that has been acting as special link to help people in need for more than 20 years.

Careline has been providing reassurance and emergency assistance for vulnerable people around the district through its various initiatives, such as fall detectors, pull cords, and many more.

“I DON’T want to go back to the olden days – they were really bad.”

Those are the words of Gary Stark, 33, of Grimsby, who suffers with learning difficulties.

He is part of an action group of adults with similar problems, who fear cuts to their funding could mean a return to the now redundant long-stay hospitals.
