A NEW strategy which aims to improve
Welsh language services for carers and their families has been launched today.
Deputy Minister for Social Services Gwenda Thomas and Health Minister Lesley Griffiths launched the scheme which aims to improve the quality of people’s experience of Welsh language care among front line service.
Mrs Griffiths said: “We want to make sure users and their families feel that they are able to use Welsh when being assessed and receiving treatment or care.
“We all feel more comfortable discussing personal health and emotional matters in our first language.
“This framework is a key step to increasing not only the physical and mental wellbeing of Welsh speakers who need access to health and social care services, but also their emotional wellbeing.”
Mrs Thomas added: “We want to make sure users and their families feel that they are able to use Welsh when being assessed and receiving treatment or care.”
