Husband urges Norfolk’s ‘hidden’ army of carers to seek support

A husband who spent almost 30 years caring for his wife, after she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, has urged the county’s “hidden” unpaid carers to get the support they are entitled to.
Ahead of Carers Week, which starts on Monday, Les Eve said he wanted to get the message out that people looking after loved ones were not alone.
Mr Eve, who set up the Costessey Carers Support Group following his experiences looking after his wife, Shirley, is the Carers UK Ambassador for Carers in Norfolk.
Devoted mother secures tickets for ill daughter to see Foo Fighters at Big Weekend
A devoted mother made her sick daughter’s dream come true after securing a chance to see the Foo Fighters tomorrow.
Abby Warne, 23, suffers from a rare neurological condition which means she requires 24-hour care and relies on crutches and a wheelchair to get around.
Miss Warne, who lives in Ringsfield near Beccles, had bought tickets to see the Foo Fighters at Wembley in June, but was forced to cancel after realising she would not be well enough to go.
NNUH launch #iCare social media campaign to mark Dementia Awareness Week

NNUH is showing its support ahead of Dementia Awareness Week (18th – 24th May) and encouraging the public of Norfolk to think about dementia with its #iCare campaign.
To help raise awareness of the condition and the variety of ways people can help, the hospital is asking all to join in the social media campaign by tagging any dementia friendly activities with the hashtag #iCare.
