Local man launches website to help the elderly and disabled of Essex

A new company has launched to help the elderly and disabled of Essex to remain living independently in their own homes. Chelmsford man John Ford was inspired to start my home care Services following the difficulty he experienced in setting up a home care package for his 90 year old Father.
“After my Mum died, I wanted to make sure Dad would cope in his Loughton home with friends and family nearby. Dad certainly didn’t want to move from the house that he’d lived in for 50 years”.

Patients lives are being used to save money
NHS managers are abusing the system by making patients wait longer for treatment, the health secretary says.
Andrew Lansley was speaking out after a competition watchdog criticised the way non-emergency operations, such as knee and hip replacements, were being run.
The Co-operation and Competition Panel said some primary care trusts had introduced minimum waiting times to save money and level-down performance.

Residents hanging on for phone line

RESIDENTS left without a phone line for more than a month have slammed a communications giant for “fobbing them off”.
Disgruntled householders at the new 13-bungalow Olaman Walk development, in Peterlee, said they were told by their telephone suppliers they would have landlines installed ready for moving in on June 20.
But more than five weeks on, they are still waiting.
