A FATHER who spent most of his childhood in care says he has been let down by the system after only just being diagnosed with a series of severe behavioural disorders.

Robert Joyce, 47, of Buntingford Road, in Monkwick, Colchester, was taken into foster care at five because his parents couldn’t cope with his behaviour.

In trouble at school and with the police, he ended up committing crime and spent much of his young life in and out of youth detention centres.

The Road to Recovery: Lots of lovely benefits?

Here’s the consolation for being stuck in a wheelchair: lots of lovely benefits. Hooray! Gimme gimme gimme!

My wife told me that so wondrous is the state’s largesse for wheelchair users that this is causing resentment among the able-bodied population. So much so that there have been incidences of attacks on the tube.

Tory benefit changes leave child carers £3.5k a year poorer

Axing disability “premiums” could leave 25,000 people around £70 a week poorer

TENS of thousands of young carers will miss out on up to £3,550 a year under brutal benefit changes, campaigners warned yesterday.

Axing disability “premiums” could leave 25,000 people around £70 a week poorer, said the Children’s Society.

The Government claims carers will be compensated by other increases, but not all will qualify and there is no guarantee benefits will keep pace with spiralling prices.
