CARERS in Halton are being invited to form a rainbow on one of the borough’s most recognisable landmarks.
The Rain of Rainbows event will see 500 carers and ex-carers lining up on the footpath of the Silver Jubilee Bridge decked out in all the colours of the rainbow.
Participants will be issued with matching T-shirts and caps in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet and will hold hands.
They will then make their way to the Stobart Stadium for refreshments and a celebration event hosted by the mayor and mayoress.
The event takes place on Sunday, June 12, and has been organised by Widnes and Runcorn Cancer Support Group in conjunction with Alzheimer’s Society Cheshire North and St Helens, Halton Adults with Learning Disabilities (HALDS), Halton Autistic Family Support (HAFS), Halton Carers Centre, plus other members of Halton Carers’ Consortium.
Dee Graal, of Widnes and Runcorn Cancer Support Group said: “Some of the funding will be provided by Halton and St Helens Primary PCT but sponsorship will be a key factor.”
The event is open to all carers and ex-carers aged 16-plus. To register for the event or provide sponsorship email dee.graal@tiscali.co.uk.
