IF you are the carer of an adult, Luton Borough Council would like to hear your opinions on the services it provides to you.

 

Looking after a family member, partner or friend is something that will happen to most people at some point and the Council recognises that caring duties place a significant impact on carers’ lives.

Chris was excited and jumpy as he waited in the cinema foyer for his friends to arrive.

“We have never done a cinema trip before,” says his support worker Deman, who has looked after him for 11 years in the house he shares with two other autistic friends.

“He would make too much noise and annoy other people.”

More than a thousand children, parents and carers enjoyed a sun-soaked play day last week as part of a campaign to get more young people playing outside.

New research has revealed that, while 72 per cent of parents regularly played outside, only 40 per cent of children today play outside to the same extent.

Savlon and Play England, the groups behind the findings, are worried children are at risk of losing out on essential life experiences that outdoor play brings.
