More than 50 bikers rallied together in Cromer today (Saturday) to deliver some special Easter treats to the residents of a Royal British Legion (RBL) care home.

More than 50 bikers rallied together in Cromer today (Saturday) to deliver some special people.

The Saturday Morning Club riders from North Elmham made the trip to raise money for the RBL’s Poppy Appeal and also to bring the residents of Halsey House, off Norwich Road, a selection of chocolates and biscuits.

Motorcyclist Ian Taylor, who helped to co-ordinate the event, said: “We are a fairly large club and our main objective is to enjoy ourselves and raise money for charity.

“We do an Easter run every year and take Easter goodies to different locations. Last year we delivered Easter eggs to children on military bases who had family serving in Afghanistan.”

Riders were asked to donate £5 to take part in the ride, which will be donated to the Poppy Appeal.

“We’ve raised about £200 from the ride alone,” Mr Taylor added.

The manager of Halsey House, Sally Mills, said the event had been “fabulous.”

She added: “They ladened us with goodies which is lovely.

“Some of the residents here used to be riders so they enjoyed watching them all ride up to the front of the building.

“It’s an amazing sight and for the residents it’s just something different for them from day to day life.”

After delivering the treats to the home the riders continued on to North Walsham to visit the Norfolk Motorcycle Museum.
