Fat cats milk the NHS yet doctors like me have to turn away the sick to save cash
No doubt you read with anger and disbelief the Mail exposé of the astronomical salaries some NHS managers are being given. Anyone who pays into the NHS would feel the same.
I share those feelings. But my anger as a taxpayer is eclipsed by the fury I feel as a doctor. A doctor who has to sit in front of patients in desperate need and tell them that they are not sick enough to get the treatment they require. A doctor who has to stand by and watch budgets cut to the bone.
