Inspired by the shopping images of Christmas

It’s only for show,
The magazine picture of Christmas,
Tastefully decorated tree,
Smiling family having tea,
Burning candles,plates of ham,
Clean white kids, no sign of Gran.

She can’t make it this year.
She’ll spoil the image with her AD,
Sits in the corner, out of the way,
Unable to speak, unable to say,
Or take part in the proceeding.
She even needs handfeeding.

So we’ll leave her out of the photo.
The carers will look after her,
Give her food she can chew,
Wash, clean and take to the loo,
And show there is no place for her,
On this 25th day of December.
