Family home carers need to be able to access the internet
Digital Future: Tackling Social Exclusion Through Technology
Digital skills are vital for education and employment and with government services moving ever closer to digital by default, an exciting forum “A Digital Future: Tackling Social Exclusion Through Technology”, will be exploring key issues surrounding the Race Online 2012 campaign including breaking down the digital divide and promoting the benefits of the internet for vulnerable groups.
Led by inside government on 9 November, Race Online 2012’s Special Adviser Annie Dare will be presenting the keynote, “Promoting Digital Inclusion – Race Online 2012”, discussing issues such as building a digital champion volunteer network and supporting charities, social enterprises and community groups to survive and thrive by embracing technology; delegates will also discuss strategies for addressing issues of access, motivation and skills, and how local authorities, communities and social housing providers can implement digital inclusion strategies, gain funding for providing digital services, and learn how the digital by default government will be created.
