Pledge for excellence in dementia care for Norfolk, Suffolk and Kent launched

An initiative advocating exemplary care for people in the region affected by dementia was launched in mid Norfolk yesterday.

Manorcourt Care day centre in Griston hosted the Dementia Pledge for Norfolk Suffolk and Kent, which encourages those caring for people with dementia, either at home or in day centres, to sign up and commit to providing high standards of care.

A central part of the pledge, which aims to include more than 500 care providers, is to put the individual with dementia at the centre of care, as well as gaining a strong understanding of the condition.

British Red Cross event in Norwich hears how older people play a vital role in society

The vital role older people play in communities around our region has been highlighted at a British Red Cross event held to discuss the future of caring for the elderly and vulnerable.

The British Red Cross event, where speakers talked about the provision of care for the elderly and vulnerable in the East at Fusion at the Forum, Norwich.

North Norfolk MP Norman Lamb was the main speaker at the event, which was held at the Forum in Norwich, focusing on “empowering independent living in East Anglia”.

Care workers take to the stage in Goldilocks pantomime

The magic of pantomime has transformed a team of Norfolk care workers into stars of the stage for a very special production of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

 

And the team from NorseCare have shown they can put on a great show –oh yes they can! – with their version of the classic children’s story that they are taking on a tour of the county to entertain care home residents, their friends and family.

The cast and crew are made up of staff from different NorseCare care homes and the organisation’s head office.
