The extent of the country’s dependence on carers is revealed in new figures ahead of National Carers Week which starts on Monday.

Once a year Carers Week is celebrated all over the country – and nowhere more so than in the Ribble Valley.

The area’s Crossroads Care team acknowledges the role carers play in looking after loved ones in their own homes and know how they value respite breaks.

So during the special week from June 13 to 19, there will be several events taking place either to raise funds or to promote the service.
