Stepping Hill: Police investigate contaminated milk

Police are probing a second suspected contamination incident at Stockport’s Stepping Hill Hospital after milk was found “spiked with bleach” on a ward.

However detectives said there was no evidence of a link to the sabotage of saline drips earlier this year.

The investigation into contaminated saline has been narrowed to focus on three deaths, police revealed earlier.

Crossroads Care to provide day care for people living with dementia in Newmarket

New care scheme for dementia sufferers

 

A CHARITY which supports carers will set up a new day care scheme in Newmarket thanks to a funding boost. 

Crossroads Care will introduce the Homeshare scheme to the town and the surrounding area to provide day care for people living with dementia.

The team is appealing for volunteers to act as “homesharers” by providing their own homes for the scheme

The Low Review of personal mobility needs is extended to seek views of young people, their parent’s and residential schools and colleges

The independent review looking at the personal mobility needs of people living in residential care, led by Lord Low, has today published a call for evidence from disabled young people aged 16 and over, their families, and residential schools and colleges.

The Low Review has been created in response to proposals within the Welfare Reform Bill to stop paying the mobility component of the Personal Independence Payment, replacing DLA, to disabled people living in publicly funded residential care homes or colleges.
