The Brookdale Club plans an action packed month raising money for local charity ‘Signpost Stockport for Carers’ culminating in the Presidents annual Charity Day on 25 June held at the clubhouse on Bridge Lane, when it opens its doors to all.

 

Brookdale raises money for careers‘Signpost Stockport for Carers’ is an independent charity, established in 1986, which provides free, confidential information to unpaid carers of all ages and ethnicity, and professionals who work with carers, in the Stockport area.

The Brookdale’s President, Peter Browne says ‘he was very moved by the way the charity improves carers’ lives throughout the borough of Stockport and in line with the club’s policy of actively supporting the local community was delighted to be associated with such a worthwhile local charity’.

The money raising events planned this month include a Duck Race, Whist Drive, Charity Dance, Bowls in the Park, Photography Competition, Bridge Drive, Jazz Concert, Quiz Night, Charity Lunch and the Charity Day Fair.

The Brookdale Club, situated on Bridge Lane, Bramhall was established in 1943 and provides a social and activity based service for the local community. The Brookdale Club is a ‘not for profit’ organisation run by members for members and details of their activities can be found on their web site www.brookdaleclub.org.uk. New members are always welcome.
