That is why I want to highlight how new funding announced on Monday will ultimately support life-saving research and help to protect millions of vulnerable people living with long-term conditions at home.

British Red Cross launches free first aid app

The British Red Cross will empower smartphone users worldwide to act in an emergency, with the launch of its new mobile app.

The Red Cross’ free app features simple, easy-to-understand advice on 18 everyday first aid scenarios, as well as tips on how to prepare for emergencies, from severe winter weather to road traffic accidents.

Staff from the Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) older people’s services teamed up with pupils from local school, Burton-upon-Stather Primary, near Scunthorpe to entertain service users and carers with a sing-along, mince pies and coffee.
