Hastings college is first in UK to get autism award

Sussex Coast College Hastings (SCCH) last week became the only general further education college in the country to be awarded autism accreditation status from the National Autistic Society (NAS). 

A review team from the NAS carried out a visit of the town centre campus and decided that the college’s department for pupils with learning difficulties ticked all the boxes.

Their report found that the college’s provision for students with autism was strong, particularly in helping the pupil’s adapt to new surroundings, and also praised the quality of SCCH’s support network.

Seasoned newsgatherers on the local beat – including two from North Norfolk – are ready to reveal a few tricks of their trade to raise laughs and boost funds for the EDP We Care Appeal.

 

A special show has been devised to prove how these gentlemen of the press, well versed in serious matters, can fill seats as well as columns.

The Football League has teamed up with national charity Help the Hospices for the 2011/12 season.

The Football League’s official charity partnership with Help the Hospices will give millions of Football League fans across England and Wales the chance to make a difference for people with life-limiting illnesses in their local community and their families.
