Not just at Christmas are Carers like Cinderella!

We all know the story of Cinderella the down trodden girl that has to do everything for her sisters and wicked step mum. Right now thinking about everyday life do you know who does this on a regular basis. Let me tell you its CARERS .

Did you know most carers work 24 hours a day , 7 days a week. With little of no breaks and very rarely a holiday. So why does society seem to ignore this fact. I am a mum to 3 children with autism and I have to say this has taken a massive toll on our family we have to think every situation, consequences to stop any meltdowns or upset to the children. We try to keep life on an even keel as much as possible. Now my youngest who is 22 months is also disabled to what extent we are waiting to find out his MRI results. Its more hard work as he has to be constantly supervised.

I am lucky and I have a very supportive husband who tries to help as much as possible. There are some carers that get no support what so ever and its all wrong. Yes, it is our choice to look after the person concerned but it would be nice to have some outside support or someone just to say,

Your doing a great job

So when your all enjoying your nights out or work’s Christmas Party please give a thought for the Cinderellas of this world. The one’s that go above and beyond general housework, the ones that are the unpaid nurses, the ones that are constantly there. These people do exist, they are real. You don’t appreciate how bad some days can get so just a friendly smile or kind word could make a massive difference to that person’s day. The only difference to Cinderella is we don’t get to go to the ball.
