Christmas comes but once a year
When it does I’m the only one here

PA on leave all festive and gay
To carers like me it’s just another day

Doctors and nurses all off for the week
That’s when incontinence reaches it’s peak

All on TV is so happy and gay
For carers like me it’s just another day

I’ve done all my shopping,food, presents and such
Not got much money so nobody’s got much

This year I decided how much I could pay
For carers like me it’s just another day

Come Christmas day we may see happy faces
Not for too long-there are parties other places.

So after an hour of watching kids play
for carers like me it’s just another day

I’ll settle down to my dinner for one
Having made sure all my caring is done

I’ll look in on Chill later on Christmas day
Hoping more Chillers have come in to play

Then maybe, just maybe, I’ll be able to say
For carers like me—that was a much better day..
