YOUNG people in Winchester who act as carers will be given the chance by Media Trust and Sainsbury’s to tell their stories on camera.

Winchester Young Carers has been selected for the Untold Stories scheme, which matches small charities with top filmmakers to create films demonstrating their work.

The charity aims to improve the lives of young people, providing them with support and opportunities to learn life-skills.

Ben Hogbin, Winchester Young Carers manager said: “We have always wanted to show our work but didn’t have the resources or funds. We look forward to using our film to build our case for support.”

Caroline Diehl, Media Trust chief executive said: “This will provide Young Carers with a rare opportunity for them to tell their story to a wide audience.”

Once the film is produced, it will be presented by Jon Snow and broadcast on Media Trust’s national television channel, Community Channel.
