A BOROUGH care and respite centre has been boosted by a £1,000 donation by West Midlands Police.

Crossroads Care, based in the Pensnett Trading Estate provides free trained carer support and respite for disabled or sensory impaired borough residents, helping over 140 families every week with care facilities in their own home.

The donation, which was made available through the sale of property seized or found and unable to be returned, will help the centre offer families day trips out, as well as organising coffee mornings and parties.

PCSO Julie Pressdee from the Kingswinford neighbourhood policing team, said: “Crossroads is a great care service that offers support to those families that need a helping hand. I was thrilled to be able to hand over the cheque which I now will help change lives.

“Officers often come across people and families in our day to day role that would benefit from the help and support Crossroads can offer, and it is so important for us to be able to point those people in the direction of Crossroads.”
