How chill has changed

Postby wendy » 05 Aug 2015, 11:21

We get members come on the forum and ask for help, when they have not taken part for years, and they have no idea of what is happening to the other regular posters of Chill.
There seems to be no support for one another, except from our few regular supporters who really care and they know we care for them.
Do you think it is because of the lack of care in the community that they don't have time to come on Chill and read our posts?
What do you think is the problem and how can we encourage carers to take an active part because for me personally, I know how much chill means to me and to you.

Certainly not because of you Wendy. Please wipe that from your mind. I think that fb and twitter are the culprits. They read those and don't realise that the forums are here and the benefits of them. It is a pity. I love chill and the way it is. It is their loss they don't join in

It may well be their loss they don't join in Jane but it doesn't alter the fact so few are regular supporters these days, that is what the situation is.

I actually had two people contact us today, one who has not visited chill for over 6 years and the other who left a message on the forum.
We know that there are many carers who read the public part of Chill and gain comfort from that, but my point is that carers are missing out on the support they once would have received from Chill.

I'm sorry to say that I had not visited Chill for a while - just a combination of things I suppose.

Computer problems- difficulty in getting that sorted as our small town doesn't have computer repair company - I eventually located someone to get things sorted and he was very helpful.

The main factor of course is that hubby's care needs continue to increase. He has been housebound due to physical health problems for a good while but now with Vascular Dementia in the mix, well I'll leave it to your own imagination - his needs are considerable.

Time passes so quickly.

I don't do Facebook, Twitter, etc but it sometimes feels like the whole world participates on facebook so I expect that is a contributing factor.

Please don't ever think you are at fault Wendy, certainly not.
