begging letters from charities

Most of my post consists now of begging letters from charities, I had 4 today and 3 yesterday.
I am going to start counting now.
How much is this costing in postal charges and administration from our donations?

The charity donation bags put through my letter box are nearly every day.
I was in a charity shop today when someone was donating a few bags and I overheard the assistant asking for their name, address and phone numbers so they could contact them to say how much their donation had raised!
And, if they were taxpayers would they sign some form .
How many begging letters do you get from charities?

I get a few every now and then ... I just recycle them, some sometimes have free pens etc in, I just recycle them too - and put them in the bag I keep for the charity shop across the road from me. I get pestered when I do donate to some shops, like British Heart in particular always try to get me to sign up for gift aid - I never do.

Haven't had anyone knock on the door lately, mind I have a notice on my door "No Cold Callers" if they do I have the chain on the door open it and point at the notice which is right beside the door bell and shut the door.

I hate the "Chuggers" as well with their "Hello Darlin", and when they work in pairs, you walk past one ignoring them and the second once "pounces"

I get loads, too, I just put them in recycling

I do feel guilty when I dont even open them, but I know it has to be done.

Think I will return them to sender.

I put them straight in recycle bin without opening them.

When my great aunt died Many years ago i opted to make a donation, in her memory, to her selected charity. A one off? No now i get regular mailings, usually with raffle tickets. The tickets go through the shredder and the rest goes in the recycle bin.

If envelopes comes through the letter box, when the collector comes i say i've donated on line.

Anyone who's a tax payer is already donating to overseas aid via the government because of the eu's insistance that a certain % of our gdp goes in foreign aid.

I used to feel guilty but after what we've been through since December 2013, i dont feel guilty anymore. Community spirit doesnt exist - well not from some of my neighbours anyway. It's left me with a whole new veiw on life
