A LIFE OUTSIDE OF CARING GRANT STATEMENT
The Life Outside of Caring Grant is designed to give all Carers over the age of 16 the opportunity to improve their health and wellbeing. A Carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who, due to illness, disability, mental health problems or an addiction, could not cope without their support. Those who have become ex-carers within the last 12 months are also eligible to apply.
A Carer can apply for a grant up to £100 for any activity or equipment which helps give them a life outside of caring and which cannot be funded by statutory services or any other Carers grants available in Norfolk.
This grant from Norfolk County Council is managed by Carers Council for Norfolk whose members are all Carers representing the 5 geographical localities in Norfolk.
This funding has come from Norfolk County Council which has invested an additional £127,000 in the Carers Agency Partnership (CAP). £100,000 of this funding has been set aside for individual grants for Carers in Norfolk over a period of a year.
