Guernsey Buses

Postby chenrezig » 23 Aug 2013, 17:09

This is one of the really old Guernsey buses that are still running ... I used to travel on these when I first went to Guernsey - to ring the bell to get off, you pulled on a string that rang a bicycle bell at the front near the driver -they keep these for running special trips

CT Plus currently have the contract to operate the bus service - here are a few of their buses .. all have low floors and space for wheelchairs

There is another company - Island Coachways but they do charters, like when the big cruise ships come in, or meet people off the ferry

than999 so much Liz gre55555

Tommo says they are really cool photos. He went on a daytrip to Guernsey in 2006 and didn't see any old buses, he saw some of the yellow and green buses but they had a different livery then. You have made his day. ju098 ju098 ju098

Nooooo, lol lol

... they even stop for you if you are between stops if you put your hand out  as long as it is not where they have a one-way sytem... had one driver who was telling people who she had found out were tourists where other things to see were near where they got on and off ... great customer service there
