MP for Norwich North since 1997. Chair, Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology and of the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee. Member, Select Committee on Science and Technology (to 2001). Founded All-Party Group on Cancer.
Vice-Chair, All-Party Group on Organophosphates, and of the Food and Health Forum.
Member of MSF.
Lifelong and career interest in cancer and health related issues such as palliative care, patient power and cancer research and has ensured a high profile for issues in House of Commons.
