Have your say on our Trust’s strategic objectives

On behalf of Michael Scott, CEO
Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust

Dear Colleague

We have promised that we will be more transparent and involve you in the decisions made by our Trust and we want to hear your views on our proposed strategic objectives.

Developing clear and comprehensive strategic objectives of where we are going, and how we achieve that, are a core part of our Trust’s road to improvement.

Underpinned by the CQC’s five key objectives: Safe, effective, well-led, caring and responsive; our strategic objectives will be our foundations to our future success.

We are holding two events this month inviting staff, service users, carers and stakeholders to discuss and develop these objectives, for the next two years.

The two events, which will also be open to our service users, carers and the public, are:

• Tuesday 10 March, 1.30pm, at Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich IP1 3DE.

• Wednesday 11 March, 9.30am, at the King’s Centre, 51 King Street, Norwich NR1 1PH.

Those attending the events will be asked four key questions:

1. Are the strategic priorities correct?

2. What additional activities are required to make this happen?

3. What would the expected outcome from these activities be and what ‘good’ looks like?

4. Do the strategic vision, values and aims make sense?

Your feedback will ensure we create a robust strategy which will enable us to:

• Develop clinical strategies for each service to deliver safe, effective quality services which re-establish trust in us as a provider of choice, nationally and locally

• Ensure organisational leadership plans are in place that enable our Trust to be out of investigation by Monitor no later than March 2016

• Implement the Financial Recovery Plan to ensure the future viability of our Trust

• Implement the revised co-produced Service User and Carer Involvement Strategy to include the co-production of service planning and delivery

By involving you, we can begin to fully engage our people in who we are, how we behave and how we hold each other to account, be that a member of the Board, a Governor, a nurse, or a hospital driver.

We hope that you will be able to attend one of these meetings as we want to listen and act on your views and suggestions to help us help you make our Trust an organisation you are proud of.

Thank you
