- now available to carers aged 16 years and over

Are you a carer? Would you like to learn new skills to boost your career, support you in your caring role or develop a new leisure interest?

Learning grants of up to £200 are available to fund or part-fund learning course fees for carers living in Norfolk.

The age at which you are eligible to apply for a grant has recently been lowered from 18 to 16.

Anyone aged 16 or over can apply if they have been providing unpaid support for a year or more to a relative, friend, partner or child who can’t manage because of disability, illness or frailty.

The grants – which are available from Age UK Norfolk and funded by Norfolk County Council – can go towards a variety of courses, from creative writing, and sport and fitness, to adult education classes and driving lessons.

Courses can be distance learning, or provided at a local college, adult education centre or other facility. They can also be one-off or run over several sessions.
