St Peter Mancroft replica tower
Norfolk and Norwich Festival 2014 - The Forum, Millennium Plain, Norwich. 10th May 2014. Part of the launch of the festival was the building of a replica of St Peter Mancroft Tower, made from cardboard boxes and what must have been thousands of feet of brown "tank" tape ... I couldn't stay to see it completed -I just hope the weather held off long enough, as when I got home it was wet n windy ... fingers crossed they made it. Complete strangers all joining in to help each other  - wonderful to see ...

I took a few pics and some videos which I have just finished uploading to Youtube ..
Pic 1 – shows the chap who was in charge of construction, and gave the instructions to lift using a megaphone

Pics 3 and 4 show the replica tower with the real one in the background …





The videos are of them lifting the tower it is built from the bottom up.. The spire was built, then boxes were placed all around the base, and a huge effort was made by the crowd to lift it as the same time, then the boxes were slid underneath and taped in place - and so it went on .. I had to leave before it was finished –at least I hope it was finished –the weather got up really windy n wet by the time I got home –I just hope it stayed okay for it to be completed …

I was only sorry I couldn't stay until they knocked it down, I did think about going back into the city but with the weather getting rainy n windy about 4ish I decided to stay in -I did see a BBC camera there but only took a few short clips -I think maybe Mustard TV or the festivals Twitter might be worth keeping an eye on ?
