Can anyone help me identify this Insect please

I found this Insect in my garden this morning and I don't know what it is, I can identify plants but not so good with Insects

i think it may be a member of the British Heteroptera .. I found this website with some very similar bugs,

but in differenr colours - trouble is you have to check the whole list? But I have clicked to look at some of the pics and it seems to be a type of Shieldbug?


Got it did a search on Google images - it seems to be a green shieldbug  http://www.bugsandweeds.co.uk/bugs.html

it is also called a stink bug, so hold your nose................

I submitted these photos to our local paper last week and one of them has been published in the the paper today  o904 o904 o904
