Wendy and I went to Blicking Hall yesterday .. here are some of the pics we took while there
A beautiful old place ... built in 1624. at a cost of "only" £8000".
We had a look in the bookshop first, only problem there was where to start - hundreds of books of all shapes and sizes and subjects
Then a look at the plants for sale ..
Then it was dinner in the restaurant there -we both had a really lovely roast dinner ...
Then Wendy went for a walk back to the car while i had a very quick look round the exhibition on RAF Oulton - the halls and grounds were billets for aircrew from the base during WW2 -I spotted this lovely RAF knitted doll that ahd been presented to the Museum by someone who relatives had been based there (if anyone knows where I could get the pattern I would love to know as my Grandad was in the RAF in WW2 and I would like to knit one).
It was really lovely day out, so hot and sunny and very quick to get to ...
This last one is a pic I got of the Halls grounds from the RAF Museum ..
