about if they restrict carers allowance to only the people entitled to claim universal credit.
we are not eligible for universal credit
I cant get my pension for another 6 yrs now till I am 67
if I wasn't able to work 2 hours per day I wouldn't be entitled to any income in my own name if they restrict carers allowance to only those entitled to universal credit
this is not right or fair.
I need the carers allowance and the home responsibilities protection for my pension it provides.

Likewise Honey, I get State pension when I get to 66 - that's another 9 years. That was my big worry when I was getting Carers Allowance when I was looking after dear Dad.

I do hope they keep it seperate from any other benefit, it is about the only recognition we get off the Gov.

I don't see why they are messing with carers allowance. They want to be careful. If all carers complain and quit it will cost them a lot more! How about reclaiming tax from companies and leave the vulnerable and the ones who look after them alone!!!
