feeling very peeved

I work a couple of hours a day. I refused promotion etc so I can continue caring and working for a bit of  extra income.
I have to stay inside the carers allowance earnings limit . haven't had a wage rise for years but now have got a compulsory  2% wage rise which takes me over the carers allowance limit by a couple of pounds.
will probably lose my carers allowance for this week now.
will have to ask if I can reduce my hours at work, we are terribly short staffed as it is.
its not fair,
cost of living is rising , food prices are rising , I am trying to continue working and caring for financial reasons.
I wish  they would link  the earnings limit for entitlement to  carers allowance  to be in line with gov approved pay rises.

Definately not fair but as you said it's compulsory and you had no choice. I hope you manage to sort out a resolution xx

That is so unfair.

they moan that family carers don't work then penalise you when you do.

I really feel for you

Just a thought, but couldn't they not pay you a few hours and give it you in an extra day or twos holiday so you still get "paid"?
