I took a coat back to a local Norwich very big store, with the receipt and the labels attached.
They would not refund my money and gave me a credit note to spend in the store.
The shop was QD.
are they allowed to do that?

I think they can ,  it depends on the reason you returned it Wendy,  & you need to read their returns policy

I've heard of some shops doing that if items are not faulty.

I took some stuff back to QD quite a while back, it wasn't faulty and they gave me a credit note which i wasn't too bothered about as I used to get quite a bit of cleaning stuff there before they moved out of St Stephens.

I heard on the bus into the city a couple of days ago that Poundland may be moving across the road to the old QD store (all the posters have been taken from the windows), how true that is I do not know?
