Good news

Postby debzsanderson » 10 Jan 2015, 18:06

Befor Xmas I had to renew my mobility dla. Today I got the dreaded brown envelope and got a lovely surprise. I have also been awarded middle rate care - both indefinitely. My only worry is that as Marks carer and in receipt of carers allowance do I need to ring up and tell Carers allowance about new benefit and can they take my carers allowance off me?

That is good news Debz and a good start to the new year, I'm fairly sure you don't have to inform them of new DLA award, I've heard of people who are carers for each other and get DLA and they also claim carers allowance.

Good news indeed and take Maureen's advice .
There are many carers in your situation caring for someone.
you will have to fill in forms in the future e.g council tax, when you will declare.
Never forget how much you are saving the country.
