I think my backyard wall has an unseen vacancy/no vacancy...

Postby Honey » 15 Apr 2016, 01:12

...sign to stray cats
Every time I loose a beloved cat, another stray bedraggled cat appears in the yard some weeks later.
I am only just getting over loosing my darling archie after he was killed by a speeding car last November.
Now there is another stray cat visiting wanting a home. My other 2 cats seem to welcome him.
I had to feed him. he was starving.

They see the kindness and love you show your cats.

I do hope the waiting list isn't a very big one, you will be inundated!

He is ok thank goodness.
It was very cold here yesterday and we had 1/2" snow last night.
I was baking an apple pie and had the window open and he jumped through the window and went to my cats dishes.
I gave him a good meal as he was very hungry, then my own sleepy cats woke up and hissed at him, I gave him a cuddle which he enjoyed but then he wanted to go back out.
I think somebody else must be feeding him too as he looks in good health.
I am so glad he is ok.

I think the no vacancies sign will be going up before too long do877
He has been back every night for the past 4 evenings to have a meal ,saucer of milk, a cuddle and then go out again.
He is very shy but very friendly and has a gentle nature.
I am just making him welcome and letting him decide what he wants to do.
My other two cats just watch him with interest now with no hissy spits.
OH is resigned to the fact that we may be housing another stray, he usually objects but now says its futile do877
he loves cats too , but not the vets bills do877
This little cat is about a year old, a short hair and jet black all over with a tiny white star on his chest, and he has the most beautiful amber eyes and a long tail.
My daughter wants to call him Star.
I still miss my dear late cat Archie, but I find myself looking forward to 'Star' visiting.

ps, he hasn't sprayed again thankfully.

Well,
He is visiting twice daily now.
He pops in for lunch then goes back out ,comes back for supper and then he is off out again .
He doesn't stay long, just enough to have a meal and a bowl of milk, then away he goes.
My elderly two cats now just watch him ,and don't bother him. He ignores them too. do877
He lets me give him a swift cuddle before he goes back out (probably as an afterthought or his way of a thank you, but I must remember...cats have servants do877 )
He is starting to look a lot better, his fur is getting glossier and he seems to be gaining a little bit of weight.
He hasn't sprayed again thankfully, thankfully, thankfully do877

I came home from work tonight to be greeted with a terrible smell in the kitchen.
OH said I had just missed 'stinky star '
I could tell do877
OH had fed him as he was dusty, dirty and very hungry but was ok
I had to wash and disinfect the lower half of all the kitchen as he had sprayed some where
I was not happy do877
Thankfully the smell has gone now.
I am just glad he is ok.
