The Norwich Peregrine webcam s back for 2016

I have been keeping an eye on this for the past week or so. It was very weedy a few days ago, but when I checked yesterday it seems that the birds have given the next box a spring clean as the weeds are gone and the birds have made two little "scrapes" small depressions in the gravle that is in the nest box .

I did have a quick peep at the webcam at work at dinnertime (on my mobile I might add), and a Peregrine was sitting on the edge of the box having a good old preen...

I was watching The One Show tonight and they had a bit about Peregrines on it, they have just found out that Peregrines hunt at night by the streetlights, this was in Bath. They said that they spot prey birds as the light from the streetlamps reflects on their underneath feathers which are paler ..

It is one at about 24 minutes but be warned it is quite upsetting in parts as some of the prey is still alive when it is taken back to the next box

The first, precious, red egg of the 2016 breeding season arrived in the nest box today.

The female falcon is expected to lay another three eggs, one every four hours.

If all goes well, then the chicks will hatch in about 30 to 33 days’ time.

Since the platform was set up by the Hawk and Owl Trust in 2011, an average of four chicks have been born each year, with a 50pc survival rate.

The Hawk and Owl Trust’s Watchpoint, which attracts more than 30,000 people each year to observe the birds in Cathedral Close, will open on Wednesday.

*I think it should be every three to four days from memory?
